VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program)

The program is available SATURDAYS from 3-6 pm at the following locations:

EOC of Hempstead
Additionally, the EOC of Hempstead is offering assistance at 269 Fulton Avenue on MONDAYS between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, and also between 3:00 and 6:00 pm, in both English and Spanish, with no appointment required.
Uniondale Public Library
The Uniondale Library (located at 400 Uniondale Avenue), offers free tax preparation on TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY (6:00 to 8:00 pm), SATURDAY (11:00 am to 3:00 pm) and SUNDAY (1:30 to 3:30 pm) with no appointment necessary.
Town of Hempstead Mobile Unit
The Town of Hempstead Mobile Unit (200 North Franklin Street) is open TUESDAY and THURSDAY from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, no appointment needed.
Hofstra University Tax Law Society
The Hofstra Tax Law Society (121 Hofstra University School of Law, Hempstead) offers assistance WEDNESDAYS from 5:00 to 8:30 pm and SUNDAYS 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. No appointment is required and English and Portuguese assistance is available.
Massapequa Teachers FCU
The Massapequa Teachers FCU (4250 A Jerusalem Avenue, Massapequa) offers tax assistance. These are by appointment only and appointments can be made by calling 631-698-7000.
The Teachers Federal Credit Union in Westbury (750 Old Country Road) offers free preparation services on SATURDAYS from 3:00 to 6:00 pm, in both English and Spanish. No appointments are required.
AARP Tax Aide Program
The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide offers free tax preparation help to anyone (regardless of age and AARP membership is not required). AARP Foundation Tax-Aide has more than 5,000 locations in neighborhood libraries, malls, banks, community centers and senior centers. Local libraries participating in this program include: Levittown, Plainedge, Hempstead, Farmingdale, Hicksville, East Meadow, Franklin Square, Bethpage, Massapequa and Plainview-Old Bethpage.
