Senator Hannon inspects some of the more than 600 Senator Kemp Hannon inspects some of the more than 600 pounds of food collected in his most recent food drive, which will benefit the Interfaith Nutritional Network (INN).
The INN addresses the issues of hunger and homelessness on Long Island by providing food, shelter, long-term housing, and supportive services in a dignified and respectful manner for those who seek their help. They are a not-for-profit, volunteer-based organization with a dedicated staff, a broad base of community support and a commitment to educate the public about these issues.
Local supermarkets throughout the Sixth Senatorial District served as collection centers. Senator Hannon sponsors several food drives annually to benefit needy charities and food banks like the INN, Island Harvest, and Long Island Cares (the Harry Chapin food bank).
