FIGHTING HUNGER THIS HOLIDAY SEASON
Through his “Thanksgiving Food Drive,”
Senator Kemp Hannon collected 200 pounds of food from the community and donated
it to Island Harvest to help feed families on Long Island.
“Each time my office takes up a
collection to help those in need, we get an amazing response from our
community,” said Hannon. “I would like to thank everyone who helped us this
Thanksgiving season to assist many of our fellow community members with giving
their families a proper Thanksgiving meal,” Hannon continued.
Harvest is Long Island’s largest hunger relief organization. Their volunteers
and staff deliver millions of pounds of good food to a network of over 600 Long
Island-based food pantries, soup kitchens, and other non-profit organizations
that offer feeding services for those in need.
