Try Out the New Voting Machine - Save the Date - Wednesday, September 1

By now you have probably heard that the curtain has closed on the voting booths, literally. Next time you head to the polls to cast your ballot, you will notice that a computerized voting system has replaced the curtain and lever system you are accustomed to.

Avoid confusion at the polls. Come to Senator Kemp Hannon’s free Voting Machine Try Out event on Wednesday, September 1 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. downstairs at the Garden City Library located at 60 Seventh Street, Garden City. This event includes a live demonstration by the Nassau County Board of Elections.

“If the government is going to change the system, then it is the responsibility of the government to inform citizens on how to use the new system,” said Senator Hannon. “That’s why I am hosting this event. Everyone deserves the opportunity to try out the new voting machines and feel comfortable when they head to the polls,” Hannon continued.
