Most parents and grandparents believe they have all the bases covered when it comes to ensuring the safety of their children or grandchildren. However, the truth is, new child safety information is constantly being discovered, but not always being disseminated to the public through multiple sources.
Senator Kemp Hannon wants every parent to possess the latest child safety information and have all of their questions answered. Thatís why Senator Hannon is hosting a free Child Safety Forum on Tuesday, May 18, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Library located at 999 Old Country Rd., Plainview.
Don Wang, Public Educator for the L. I. Regional Poison and Drug Information Center of Winthrop University Hospital, will provide the latest information on how to keep your children safe. Topics will include everything from Poison Control information to the safety products every parent MUST own.
Several local stores such as Bye Bye Baby, Lowe's and HomeDepot will provide products for demonstrative purposes. A representative from MedSafe Co. will demonstrate the digital lock medicine cabinet. Not only young children, but adolescents and teenagers are at grave risk when it comes to an unlocked medicine cabinet.
