Senator Hannon Shows Support For VLTs At Belmont
In front of a large crowd at a recent rally held at the Belmont Park racetrack in Elmont, Senator Kemp Hannon took to the podium to express his support for VLTs (Video Lottery Terminals) at the racetrack.
“The implementation of VLTs at Belmont is a key opportunity to develop the site and catalyze economic growth in both Elmont and the surrounding communities, while providing more money for area school districts,” said Senator Hannon. “For years now, we have been asking the state for the same deal afforded to New York City and Yonkers. Long Islanders should not be shortchanged,” Hannon continued.
The New York Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association (NYTHA) and the New York Thoroughbred Breeders sponsored the rally on the apron at Belmont.
Those who attended the rally held signs displaying “$2.4 Billion NYS Revenue At Risk” and “VLTs ASAP!!!”.
